Shoppers at the stores of the Primer Group of Companies, an ever-expanding retail and distribution company of the world’s top and premium consumer brands and industrial products, can now use GCash Scan to Pay.

Primer Group of Companies and Globe Fintech Innovations, Inc. (Mynt), which operates GCash- the Philippines’ largest mobile wallet, today announced that the GCash QR-based mobile payment technology is now available in over 400 stores of the Primer Group. This will enable all its stores, including Recreational Outdoor eXchange (R.O.X.), The Travel Club, Bratpack, Sneakpeek, Res Toe Run, GRIND, Flight 001, and Ladybag, to accept payment from GCash users in the Philippines.

“Primer Group gladly partners with Globe and Mynt in bringing the GCash Scan to Pay feature in all our stores as this better gears us to deliver superior customer experience through this easy, safe, and convenient mode of payment. In taking this opportunity to offer new payment gateways, we are further equipped to strengthen our position as among the leading authorities in the retail industry, more so with our expansive travel and outdoor gear brands composed of  both established and up-and-coming labels,” said Jimmy Thai, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Primer Group of Companies.

“GCash provides convenience and security to all shoppers. Now that we have the GCash Scan to Pay feature at all Primer Group stores, customers with a GCash account and smartphone can easily pay the exact amount using their phone.  There is no longer any need to wait for loose change or pay in smaller denominations, or even stand in line for a long time,” said Anthony Thomas, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mynt.

Using the Scan to Pay feature of GCash is simple. A customer with an iPhone or Android smartphone only needs to download or update to the latest version of the GCash app, register an account, and fund their GCash wallet at any of over 15,000 GCash partner outlets nationwide. Once done, the customer just need to tap on Scan QR, point a phone’s camera at the partner’s QR code, and pay.
